A thorough seminar on important concepts and strategies that will help you plan your new facility. This training course will arm you with critical data to begin your planning process.

Who Should Attend?

The course is appropriate not only for Police Chiefs, and their staff but would benefit city management or staff members that may need a more full understanding of the complexities of the process required to plan, design and construct a modern police facility.

What is Discussed?

This three-day seminar will expose you to the process of planning for a new public safety facility. It will include discussions led by experienced police facility architects and owners/users of buildings. Tours of small, medium and large Dallas-area facilities are included, and will be led by the Police Chief/Staff involved with the entire process of their facility.

Learn valuable project management details such as:

  • Writing an RFQ that helps identify qualified firms
  • Identifying typical project contracts
  • Working with an architect. What do they do?
  • Establishing a preliminary size and cost of development
  • Determining a realistic timeframe
  • Evaluating the pros and cons of renovation
  • Identifying and correcting common planning errors

Recommendation is the event hotel—Renaissance Dallas. GSA Government rate of
approximately $157 per night. Room block reserved until October 16, 2017. Attendees should present
certificates for tax exempt status upon check-in at hotel. Other nearby hotels include Hyatt House, and
Marriott Courtyard; no group rate has been guaranteed at these hotels, but government rates may apply.
