SMU’s legendary swimming and diving program will soon have a new home fit for its world-class athletes. The facility will include an 8-lane, 50-meter pool with springboard and platform diving, spectator capacity of 800, and state-of-the-art technology for training, timing and scoring. The center will accommodate practices, competitions and community participation in aquatics in what will be known as McMillion-Barr Natatorium. The design respects the Georgian campus style and classical proportions, deftly fashioned to accommodate the unique use, and to befit the present and lead the future of east campus. The Robson and Lindley Aquatic Center is also SMU’s first major building east of the main campus, and is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification.
